Spruce Up Raises $3m seed round, bringing total funding to $4.5m

Funding will be used to double down on AI-powered personalization to bring joy back into shopping for all things home and design.

Today we are excited to announce the closing of a $3M seed round led by Two Sigma Ventures, an early stage venture fund based out of NYC that invests in companies leveraging AI to transform online consumer experiences. Madrona Venture Group, Female Founders Fund, Alumni Ventures Group, and Peterson Venture Partners also participated in the round. The funds will be used to double down on AI-powered personalization to bring joy back into shopping for all things home and design and to scale our engineering and data science teams.

Dan Abelon with Two Sigma Ventures and Hilary Billings will join the board along with Founder & CEO Mia Lewin, and Mike Fridgen, Managing Director, Madrona Venture Labs. Dan brings a wealth of AI and consumer technology experience to the board. Prior to joining Two Sigma, Dan co-founded SpeedDate (acquired by IAC), a live-video online dating service that used real-time matching algorithms to connect its 23 million members. Lifestyle branding expert Hilary Billings sits on numerous boards including Tea Collection, Wente Vineyards, Habitat for Humanity and has deep expertise in consumer and lifestyle branding.
